Education
Haderslev Kommune offers many levels of education: gymnasium (pre-university), training for the  professions, and the University College.

In Aabenraa, Soenderborg, Kolding and Esbjerg there are several academies, colleges and universities.

At the site Uddannelsesbyen Haderslev (in Danish) you can find further information regarding education in Haderslev and the area surrounding Haderslev.

Business
Haderslev Kommune aims to provide the conditions necessary to allow trade and industry to flourish, both for existing enterprises and for new initiatives that wish to establish themselves in the municipality.

You will find advice and suggestions for starting a business at punkt H.

Medical Emergencies
In cases of life-threatening illness and accidents which demand immediate attention, call (at any time) 112.

For non-life-threatening illness, you can call the out-of-hours health service (Laegevagten).

You can phone Laegevagten on any working day between 16:00 and 8:00. On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, the Laegevagten provides full 24-hour cover.

Please remember that treatment can only be provided by a doctor if an appointment has previously been made.

Have the patient's health insurance card to hand when you call Laegevagten. You will be asked for their CPR number.

You should also inform the Laegevagten duty doctor about any medication the patient may be taking.


If you suspect a fever, please take the patient's temperature before calling.

If a visit is necessary, the patient will be sent to Sygehus Soenderjylland (South Jutland Hospital)

Please bring the patient's health insurance card, together with information about any medication they may be taking.
