Apply for a driving licence
Please contact Borgerservice if you want to apply for a driving licence.
You must bring:
- A recent photograph
- A medical certificate from your GP
- ID. If you do not have a valid passport, you must bring your original certificate of baptism, name certificate or birth certificate
- Residence permit
If you need a new driving licence, or you would like a different category of driving licence, you must be instructed by a registered driving instructor.
Converting a foreign driving licence into a danish licence
If you live in Denmark and have a driving licence issued by a country outside the EU/EEA, you must convert your foreign driving licence to a Danish one no later than 90 days after you have been registered as resident i Denmark.
The rules are different depending on what country your licence is issued in. Please contact Borgerservice if you would like to know more.
