With an order placed before 22:00, it is possible to be sailed from Aarø at 22:20 and from Aarøsund at 22:40.

How to buy your ticket

You can buy tickets for the Aarø Ferry at the following places. All tickets are valid return (round trip).

• in the ticket machine in the entrance hall by the waiting room (credit card) 

• on the ferry ramp when boarding in Aarøsund (cash)

• online via govisit.dk: Buy tickets here

How the online ticket works

If you buy an online ticket, the ticket works as follows:

• Ticket is valid for the outbound journey on the selected date

• The return journey is free and can be used the same day or on any later day of your choice 

• No seat reservation – first come, first served

• Simply show your digital ticket when boarding

When purchasing online tickets, you must pay the ticket price + a fee. The ticket fee only

applies if you buy your ticket online. It is also possible to avoid the fee if you buy your ticket at

the ticket machine at the harbor in Aarøsund.

For those who often use the Aarø Ferry

If you sail with the Aarø Ferry often, we recommend that you buy a clip card, as it is cheaper

and ensures faster service.

Groups of at least 10 people can obtain a group discount on their ferry tickets. However, it is a

requirement that the tickets are paid together. Group tickets are purchased on board the ferry.

All bicycles and mopeds (max. 45 km) can be brought on the Aarø Ferry free of charge.

Caravans and trailers follow free of charge with the car to which they are attached.

Public extra sailings

In connection with acute illness, the need for a veterinarian, fire or similar, extra sailings can be ordered. Public extra sailings in 2026 cost the following:

• 06.00 – 18.00 return (round trip): 595 kroner

• 18.00 – 06.00 return (round trip): 2.400 kroner

Private extra sailings

Private extra trips in the time window 06.00 – 02.00 are sailed only if possible and only by

agreement with the ferry service.

Must be ordered no later than one week in advance.

• Car ferry, single: 3.800 kroner

• Day summer: 2.215 kroner

• Day other times: 1.265 kroner

On-demand sailing at 23:00/23:15

You can book an extra sailing from Aarø to Aarøsund at 23:00 or from Aarøsund to Aarø at 23:15. The trip must be booked before 22:00.

The cost is at follows: 

In either direction: 55 kroner + the fare for any vehicles + 5 kroner per person fuel surcharge. However, the minimum charge is 240 kroner.
